Interesting Fact(s):    Rosecrans would become an aide, on George McClellan's staff, early in the Civil War.  He would lead a brigade during McClellan's battle, in future West Virginia, at Rich Mountain.  Rosecrans would go on to command the entire Army of the Cumberland, bringing the Union victory, at Stones River (Murfreesboro) and a terrible defeat, at ChickamaugaU.S. Grant would relieve Rosecrans, at Chattanooga, putting US Major General George Thomas, in his place.  Rosecrans would move to California, after retiring from the army, and be elected to the US Congress.
