Interesting Fact(s):    Thomas Cobb, is the brother of another Confederate general, Howell Cobb.  He would be educated at the University of Georgia, and would become a lawyer.  He would gain a solid reputation in constitutional law, and would be instrumental in the secession cause in Georgia.  After the outbreak of hostilities, Cobb would recruit Cobb's Legion, and commissioned colonel.  His legion would provide good service in the battle of Second Manassas and Antietam.  He would be promoted, to brigadier general, in November 1862.  The following month, with his brigade defending the stone wall, at Marye's Heights (Fredericksburg), Cobb would be mortally wounded.
